Some homes just have a presence the moment you step inside, and this French Manor-style beauty in Westfield, NJ was exactly that. Designed by the renowned architect Anthony James, this home was more than 4,000 square feet of elegance, craftsmanship, and timeless style. Every room told a story. Every detail felt intentional. And the backyard? Let’s just say the pool alone could sell the house.
But even the most stunning homes can use a little help speaking directly to buyers, and that’s where virtual staging came in.
One of the unique features of this home was that an upstairs bedroom had been turned into a second laundry room. The seller and The Barba Group wanted to showcase how practical and stylish this setup could actually be. So, I virtually staged the space with built-ins, counters, baskets, and soft, neutral tones to give it that upscale utility-room vibe. Buyers loved the idea of a second-floor laundry, even with a fully functional one downstairs. It made perfect sense for a home this size and brought a sense of ease and luxury to the flow of the layout.
And then there was the basement. It was beautifully finished, with tons of space, 1,000 square feet to be exact, but it was completely unfurnished. Blank walls and empty floors can be tough for buyers to connect with, even if the bones are there. So, we helped them imagine the possibilities.
I created a virtual bar area with warm woods, soft lighting, and barstools ready for company. We added a cozy sitting area to unwind, and even a media room setup that made you want to grab popcorn on the spot. These images helped buyers see not just square footage, but lifestyle—Friday night movies, game days, hosting friends, and family memories.
We had a successful open house, great energy, and by Day Three, the seller had accepted an offer—over asking price.
Can you guess how much it sold for? 😉
Virtual staging isn’t just decorating—it's storytelling. It helps buyers emotionally connect with a home. Whether it’s a modest house or a luxury manor, showing potential is what helps listings shine and sell fast.
